Review

Twilight is an action-packed, modern-day love story between a teenage girl and a vampire. Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) has always been a little bit different, never caring about fitting in with the trendy girls at her Phoenix high school. When her mother re-marries and sends Bella to live with her father in the rainy little town of Forks, Washington, she doesn't expect much of anything to change.

Then she meets the mysterious and dazzlingly beautiful Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), a boy unlike any she's ever met. Edward is a vampire, but he doesn't have fangs and his family is unique in that they choose not to drink human blood. Intelligent and witty, Edward sees straight into Bella's soul. Soon, they are swept up in a passionate, thrilling and unorthodox romance.

To Edward, Bella is what he has waited 90 years for - a soul mate. But the closer they get, the more Edward must struggle to resist the primal pull of her scent, which could send him into an uncontrollable frenzy. But what will Edward & Bella do when a clan of new vampires - James (Cam Gigandet), Laurent (Edi Gathegi) and Victoria (Rachelle Lefevre) - come to town and threaten to disrupt their way of life?

Having never read the books, I've surprisingly enjoyed this film. As a non fan having no idea why there is so much hype, but can understand its appeal. It's like a modern revamp of classic love storys like Romeo and Juliet or Jane Eyre with a mix of completely reimagined vampires. While this won't have same impact as other vampire fiction like Dracula, Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles but it know how to appeal to it's audience.
Pros
Very modern indie style directing, good sense of humor, great mix of romance and danger, leaves you wanting more when it ends
Cons
Acting isn't anything special, Kristen Stewart is very talented and nice to look at but she hasn't been given much to do (until the climax) despite being in 99% of the film and Robert Pattinson is just dull, vampires seem more like blood-sucking wingless fairies.

Top 100 DVD Reviewer

The Twilight series has its fans (predominantly teenage girls) and its critics (guys) but i can honestly say as a guy that it was quite good. Bella played by Kristen Stewart is an agst driven teenage girl who has moved to Seattle to live with her father but soon falls in love with a weird guy called Edward (Robert Pattinson) who happens to be a vampire. Now it is a love story in truth but i dont find it too cheesey and can actually enjoy the story. There is an action packed scene near the end which wets the appetite for future movies. Enjoy

The book is very good, I'm not denying that, its the best one (the book) but I didn't like the film, it was slow, and Robert Pattinson doesn't even really talk in the movie, no action and pretty boring.
